Carlisle Area Midget Football Banquet

Father and Son

This was our son's first year playing football and we have enjoyed a fabulous season watching him develop into quite a force on the line.  He plays offensive guard and defensive tackle and has done a great job learning the game, mastering the skills, and playing the game.  I am so very grateful for a phenomenal group of coaches that taught the game and encouraged the players.  They were exactly the right people to lead our boy into this sport that he now loves.   Of course, it doesn't hurt that he comes from generations of football players on both sides of his family ... and his dad has always been the greatest encouragement to him.  It is always amazing for me to see our boys look up to their dad and see his shining example.  This season was definitely a time of bonding and encouragement for my baby boy and I am thankful for it.

Vienna Youth Football Awards Banquet

The VYI Youth Football League awarded the winning teams and players tonight.  Trey's 155 team made it into the playoffs and played well in the National Championship tournament in Florida so they were excited to be a part of the program tonight.  Go, Raiders!

Raider Football Practice and Pizza Party

I could not be happier with Trey's football team experience so far.  His coaches are encouraging yet tough, and spend their time actually teaching each player how to best play his position.  For this mom of a first-time football player, it is nothing short of an answered prayer.  And, because of the approach his coaches have taken, Trey is excited about the game and learning each and every time he puts on his pads and helmet. Tonight, the team enjoyed a pizza party and social after a 2 hour practice.  They boys were ravenous, of course, but then wandered right back onto the field after eating, playing because they love to play.  They are bonding as a team, getting to know each other, and having fun every step of the way.   Bonus for me is that I've been designated as the actual team photographer!  This means I can take all the photos I want and my teenager cannot complain!  "But I'm the team photographer" is my favorite phrase and my all-...

Vienna Raiders Football Practice

My teenager is playing football this year for the first time. As a native Texan, I am thrilled to watch my firstborn adorn pads and helmet and join the ranks of amazing athletes who have lived and loved this game. As a mom, I'm a little nervous about sending that precious firstborn out into an arena of full-contact aggression. He's excited to play and loves practices so far so I'm nothing but encouraging. I'll be the mom in the stands simultaneously taking long-zoom photos, cheering at the top of my lungs, and praying for both victory and safety for our players. Let the season begin!
