Kung Fu Panda Awesome Snow Tubing

We spent the afternoon snow tubing inside the Gaylord Texan. Really. Crazy fun and the boys had an absolute blast! SKADOOSH! It's going to SNOW for a second year in a row at Gaylord Texan, but this year the experience will feature even more fun! That's because Po has created an extreme eight-lane, tubing hill that's filled with dragon-warrior AWESOMENESS and covered in REAL SNOW!

Shrek Feast

Another fun adventure during our stay at the Gaylord Texan was the Shrek Feast where we dined on seemingly ordinary fare like waffles, pancakes, sausages, and bacon ... with an added twist of a "Cat-astrophe Chocolate Fountain" (that spouted green chocolate!), swamp rat, and dragon-smoked salmon.  We were also able to hang out with Shrek, Fiona, and Puss while we ate.  The boys loved it ... and we all 'earned our ogre ears' by answering some Shrek trivia.  Loved it!

ICE! Shrek the Halls

The ICE! exhibit is absolutely breathtaking and something you should try to see if you're ever able to. From the advertisement: Gaylord Texan’s popular ICE! winter holiday attraction returns with an all-new, hilarious theme: ICE! featuring DreamWorks’ Shrek the Halls!  The DreamWorks animated holiday TV special will be brought to life in an interactive world of colorful ice sculptures carved entirely from TWO-MILLION pounds of ice. Relive the heartwarming story as you stroll through this amazing attraction featuring your favorite characters: Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Gingy and Puss in Boots as they celebrate Christmas in their own special way. When Shrek tries to plan the "perfect Christmas" for Fiona and the kids, his plans are disrupted by chaos and commotion. But, in the end, Shrek learns the true meaning of the holiday and realizes it’s OK when Christmas never goes quite as planned. ICE! is created by dozens of artisans who migrate to the Dallas / Ft. Worth area each ...

Gingerbread Cookies with Gingy

After the scavenger hunt in the Gaylord Texan lobby, we decided to decorate gingerbread cookies with Gingy (from the Shrek movies). We had a 'meet and greet' with Gingy himself and had fun decorating our own gingerbread family. The cookies were good, but the ginger was too spicy for the kids. The smell was heavenly, though, and it was a fun activity for us. Trey and Joshua with Gingy Joshua decorates his gingerbread boy. Trey gives me his typical middle-schooler look.  Sigh. Our gingerbread family! Joshua gets his first taste of 'spicy' ginger. Trey said he couldn't get past 'the initial decapitation.'  =) "Mom! Hurry! My mouth is burning!" A visit to the life-size gingerbread house. Inside the Gingerbread House Gingerbread House Fun Facts
