How I was greeted at church this morning. |
Veronique, Lizzie, Joshua, and Trey working on their worship bags. |
After worship, we chatted as we gathered table supplies and broke down tables and chairs to load for next week's service. Again, I was caught in a moment of pure thankfulness. This group of people -- our church family -- are truly some of the most selfless, caring, and genuine people I have ever known. Just watching how everyone jumped in (as they do every Sunday) to do their part in cleaning up was wonderful to see ... but it is always the atmosphere of the room that truly touches me. There is an air of joy, appreciation, and comfortable friendship as the tasks are completed. And the best part? It is welcoming and envelopes whoever is in the room. From toddlers to teens to grandparents, everyone pitches in. From first-time visitors to those who have been at Legacy since Day One, everyone is welcome and included.
I am so thankful that we live in a place where we can be a part of this. The Army may move us all over the planet, but God has is always faithful to bring us 'home' to the church family we need.
Traci...you are such a breath of fresh air to me! I feel the same way about Legacy and am so thankful to know you and your family. I hope to know you better in the future! I'm incredibly thankful for the sacrifices your family makes for our country!! Much love to you beautiful woman of God!!
