Boys Golfing

Two of my boys on the 18th hole of the Fort Sill golf course, hanging with Saint Barbara!

Easter 2015

We had a lovely Easter Sunday; the one day of the year I can convince my boys to dress up for church. Aren't they just the handsomest!? My preteen's girlfriend joined us for the service and she is an absolute doll. Our local church, Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church, has been an absolute blessing this year. Pastor Josh Crain had a great message titled "Out of the Shadows" that you can hear right here: "Out of the Shadows" Sermon Podcast We enjoyed a traditional Easter lunch at home (ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and rolls) complete with Paula Deen's banana pudding in a trifle. Delicious. We are so thankful for our family, our church, and this wonderful little community to spend this year. And, more than anything, we are thankful for a Savior who is risen and loves each of us fiercely and forever.

Quick Family Ski Trip

I wish I was all perky and fearless, swishing snappily down slopes, waving gaily at friends, breathing in the cold winter air and singing tra-la-la all the way down ... but this is just not me. I am scared. It is not fun for me. And no matter how many times I vault myself down a mountain on wooden slats, I cannot see myself enjoying this.  That is my story and I am sticking to it ... until maybe the next time my boys want me to try it and I probably will ... Until I figure out they're doing that just to see me f...

West Wing Tour

Somehow the stars, moons, and planets aligned for us to a) live in Washington DC, b) know someone who works in the White House, and c) have the opportunity to take a tour of the West Wing of the White House.  The boys and I spent a beautiful afternoon touring the West Wing with our dear friend Rich Morales.  It was a day for the memory book for sure!

A Day in DC

Christmas Day 2013

Christmas morning was full of fun, discovering stockings and Santa gifts and spending the day together.  Trey was eager to try out his new arrows for his bow, Joshua was quick to spend a little more time on his new tablet, and we had a great day relaxing together.
